A digital video recorder (DVR) is an electronic device that records video in a digital format to a disk drive, USB flash drive, SD memory card, SSD or other local networked mass storage devices. Personal computers are often connected to video capture devices and DVRs.
Any good DVR CCTV system provides a multitude of advanced functions over VCR technology including video searches by event, time, date and camera. There is also much more control over quality and frame rate allowing disk space usage to be optimized and the DVR can also be set to overwrite the oldest security footage should the disk become full.
IP cameras can be recorded on DVRs, as a codec is needed for each camera to convert the IP video stream back to an analogue signal. The 8 channel DVR is an encoder with a real-time recording rate. Developed on the basis of technology, the 8 channel video/audio encoder server allows the analog to be digitized and then stored in hard disk or transmitted via network, capable of encoding.
Adopting the latest embedded processor, the encoder provides more powerful capabilities in audio/video encoding, data storage via SATA or network disk, various network protocols are supported and code downloaded in flash ensures high stability and reliable system performance.
