Video Balun (Two Signals Working Against Each Other Where The Ground Is Irrelevant).
Price: R117.6
Weight: 20 grams
Product Details:
A balun is an electrical device that converts between a balanced signal (two signals working against each other where ground is irrelevant) and an unbalanced signal (a single signal working against ground or pseudo-ground). A balun can take many forms and may include devices that also transform impedance but need not do so. The origin of the word balun is balanaced to unbalanced. The video baluns are also known as UTP baluns.
Baluns usually solve problems caused by a imbalance. A balun isolates a transmission line and provides a balanced output. The balanced terminals of some baluns can be connected to an unbalanced system. A video balun is positioned on both ends of the CAT5 cable run and uses one of the twisted pairs from the CAT5 cable to transfer the video from the camera to a DVR or monitor. Baluns contain small transformers that are specifically tuned to match cables impedance and convert the unbalanced signal to a balanced one.
