In an electrical system, a ground loop is an equipment and wiring configuration in which there are multiple paths for electricity to flow to ground. The multiple paths from a loop which can pick up stray current through electromagnetic induction which results in unwanted current in a conductor connecting two points that are supposed to be at the same electric potential, but are actually at different potentials.Differences in ground potential are typically caused by unbalanced power line loads.
The ground loop isolator is a video ground loop isolator for coaxial cable and CCTV camera applications. The ground loop isolator has a BNC male to BNC female input/output. This video product is passive which means that it does not require power, the idea behind this product is that it prevents video signal distortion caused by video ground loops. Video ground loop isolators are passive devices that reduce ground loop interference with CCTV signals and easily install in a new system or added to an existing CCTV camera system.
The video ground loop isolator is installed in line with the video cable that has come directly form the CCTV camera and before the coax cable is connected to any other device. If several security cameras come from the same area, it is recommended to install a ground loop isolator in line with every cable.
